In week 10, we learned about the different types of technical drawing, which is manually and digitally through Adobe Illustrator or other vector design software, it is a process of illustrating a black and white of front and back of the garment, which we also have to exclude the figure while drawing it. Lastly, we also learned the way to compile technical drawings in a portfolio after we're done.

Technical Drawing

A technical drawing is the fashion industry equivalent to a blueprint, it shows the manufacturer or pattern cutter the shape of the garment when laid flat, without any artistic flare or stylization. In fashion design, technical drawing is also known as technical flat drawing. It clearly shows the details of the garment, including things like stitch type, shaping such as darts or tucks, trims, and fastenings. Most of the time, only a front and back drawing is required, button some occasions an internal view might be needed.

We were then given an exercise to identify fashion trends for the season Spring/ Summer and Fall/ Winter 2021.

This is my take on the exercise

This is a top from a brand called A-COLD-WALL
